LITCHFIELD PARK, Ariz. -- Maracay Homes has created a subdivision entirely for people who like to play with really big toys. The Arizona homebuilder will conduct an open house this weekend to showcase its new home models that all feature accessory, sports or RV garages. Little Dealer Little Prices will have RVs on display during the weekend event.

The oversized homes, which range in price from $180,000 to $350,000, come in nine different floorplans with four types of accessory building options that can accommodate everything from ATVs and boats to Class A motorhomes in a garage with a 19-foot ceiling.

"We are very excited because we built this entire community around people's love for recreation," Gina Canzonetta, marketing manager for Maracay Homes, told RV Daily Report. "People can actually mix and match home styles with the type of accessory building that best meets their needs."

Canzonetta said the company has been conducting homebuilding studies for years and listening to consumers. A lot of people have expressed interest in a large storage area for their favorite toys, she explained. One model even features reinforced air vent returns that give owners additional cubbies to store outdoor equipment.

"We sold six homes the first 10 days the subdivision was open," she explained. "That tells me uncovered a popular need among Arizona residents."

Debbie Brunoforte, owner of Little Dealer Little Prices said she isn't surprised at the popularity considering that many people aren't allowed to store RVs on their property or park them in their driveways or backyards. For them, the only alternative is to store them in a lot somewhere away from their home.

"This is the first time I have ever heard of a homebuilder creating a house with an RV or sports garage built right in to the home," said Brunoforte. "These types of homes allow people to have easier access to their RVs and other sports equipment.

The dealership supplied some motorhomes for use in developing promotional literature to advertise the subdivision, which garnered some free advertising for the dealership as well.

"Thes homes eliminate the challenge many people face regarding where to store their RVs," said Brunoforte. "To me, it seems like a cost effective way to enjoy the RV lifestyle on the weekends while adding resale value to the home."

The open house takes place at 18625 W. Georgia in Lichtfield Park, Ariz., from noon to 3 p.m. June 9 and 10.
