Replaces All Power Center Converters

Automatic three-stage charging provides superior 12-volt system performance while maintaining the ideal charge and maintenance of your battery.

WF8740 model converters provides 35 Amps-DC output, and a highly reliable nominal 13.6 VDC with or without a battery, no extra filtering is required.

WFCO’s three-stage battery charging results in longer battery life, and is totally automatic. Nominal voltage output modes are a 13.2 VDC float” mode, 13.6 VDC “absorption” charge mode, and a 14.4 VDC “bulk” charge mode. Short circuit and reverse polarity protections provide you with further reliability and peace of mind. The cooling fan for the WF-8740 operates only when needed and ensures quiet operation. Front cooled fan installation does not create additional installation space requirements.

Every model is FCC Class B compliance which means the converters do not cause interference with televisions, radios, and other signals. The WF8735 model also brings you the convenience of built-in AC/DC distribution. Thirty-Amp main AC breaker and total of up to 5 20-Amp branch AC circuits can be installed. Six DC branch circuits include LED bulbs which illuminate to indicate open circuits.

	WFCO WF8740P 40 Amp RV Power Center
	I thought that this would be a fairly simple retrofit. STUPID, STUPID, STUPID!!! The 27 year old camper conversion van that this is getting installed into only had 2 15 amp fuses, and a wiring harness that looked like a randomly multi-colored octopus & squid wrestling to the death. One 10 foot wire was made of 6 different color segments and 3 different gages all butt-spliced together. Needless to say I spent 3 days mapping and testing EVERY wire I could find, then labeling it, or replacing it then labeling it. Plus I added a few new circuits as well. So after the 3 days of mapping and routing wires I began the hookup process. The labels on the unit, as well as a few basics in the field of electronics, plus the massive mapping/routing/replacing of all the wiring in the van gave me all the information I needed to finish the job now that all the multi-color spaghetti wiring in a blender has been sorted, labeled, and even tested. Once that job was finished the actual wiring up to the power center was a real slick and easy job. All the wires from the box are color-coded, and the wiring diagrams are right there to refer to as well. After getting it all wired up I get the cord out, and plugged the van in. No smoke, no sparks, no buzzing, no fires, all good signs that it is running correctly. I turned on every 12v device I could, including the refrigerator and left it for 3 days to really test/exercise/burn-in the WFCO 8740 power center. No problems after the 3rd day at max amp draw. Went camping in it, and the whole electrical system worked perfectly with no problems whatsoever. We did not even need to start the van to provide additional battery charging, the all new power center/wiring/LED lights have all come together to make for a FANTASTIC camping experience for us. Overall a great product, easy to install (if you don't have franken-wiring), and it works SOOOO much better than the original 27 year old monstrosity it replaced. Great product, great price, great service from American RV Company. We will be sure to purchase more items from this excellent business again, and again...
